Category: Red, medium bodied.
Appellation: AOC Cahors (Cahors region)
Grape: Malbec (100%)
Taste like: An outstanding wine. Still showing a vibrant color, with aromas of prune and dried raisins. Acidity and oak balance well maintained for a 29-year-old wine. Decent body and the fresh minty notes remain. Old vintages from Gamot are bucket list wines. I am very fortunate, I tried a few old vintage and I always remain amazed by the ability of Clos de Gamot wines to age and transform.
When to drink: Drink now or in the 40-50 years after vintage.
Service: 16 degrees C.
Food match: Perfect shared with wine lovers and a meal topped with black truffle.
