The Wine Advocate, Robert Park: Vintage 2008, 90/100

Jancis Robinson: Vintage 2008, 16.5/10

Category: Red, full-bodied.

Appellation: AOC Côtes de Castillon (Bordeaux region, right bank near Saint Emilion)

Grapes: Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (30%)

Farming: Organic and Biodynamic, Natural winemaking.

About the wine: Low yield. Think full-bodied but approchable red wine, quiet natural winemaking and gentle oak. A must try, that can change people mind about Bordeaux!

Taste like: Rich and concentrate with vibrant acidity and balance tannin structure with black fruits, earthy notes and violet. After a few years this approchable vibrant wine displays delicious texture and mouthfeel. As always this Domaine de  l'A from low yield is never exuberant but definetly charming. The tannins are fine and chalky with a long finish.

When to drink: Now or in the next 15 years after vintage.

Service: 16 degrees. Cabernet glass. Decant for 30 min to 1 hour.

Food match: Very versatile with food this wine will be great with grilled red meat or a stew with vegetable and herbs.
