Aromatics: “Bright crimson. Fresh, meaty, savoury nose”, according to Jancis Robinson.

 

Palate: “Much less obviously sweet than Le Pin from the same family – though there is a certain freshness and bloodiness. Reminds me a little of Haut-Brion in its fresh frank expression. Very firm. Very precise – no flatterer. Quite cool.” Jancis Robinson

 

About the wine: Quite simply, a delight to drink. The terroir that produces VCC wines is nothing less than the neighbour of Petrus and Lafleur, with all 3 located in the best area of Pomerol, a truly magical place! A bucket list wine from the Thienpont family.

 

When to drink: Drink now or in the next 15 to 25 years after vintage.

 

Service: 15-16 degrees C. Decant for 1 hour.

 

Food match: Best paired with grilled meats, especially with herbs such as thyme, rosemary, and oregano.
