About the wine: Here we are talking one of the finest wine in the world. The terroir that gives VCC 1st wine is nothing less than the neighbor of Petrus and Lafleur all 3 located in the best Pomerol's terroir. A truly magical wine made by the Thienpont family. Simply a bucket list wine.
Taste like: Decanter – “The 'grand retour' of Cabernet Franc with 29% in the blend. Less opulence than 2009 and 2010 but this is a wine that really sings. It has a vital, floral, dark fruit nose, a silky texture, and tannins. Succulent, fresh and long. A classic VCC. The Right Bank wine of the vintage.”
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 15 to 25 years after vitnage.
Service: 15 to 16 degrees C. Decant 30 min to 1 hour.
Food match: Best paired with grilled chops, veal, pork or lamb, especially with herbs such as thyme, rosemary, and oregano. Great with a steak, especially in a red wine sauce, a beef Wellington, roast rack or leg of lamb, served pink or even with a roast chicken, turkey, and guineafowl.
