Farming: Sustainable

 

Aromatics: “The 'grand retour' of Cabernet Franc with 29% in the blend. Less opulence than 2009 and 2010 but this is a wine that really sings. It has a vital, floral, dark fruit nose.” Decanter

 

Palate: “A silky texture, and tannins. Succulent, fresh and long. A classic VCC. The Right Bank wine of the vintage.” Decanter

 

About the wine: Quite simply, a delight to drink. The terroir that produces VCC wines is nothing less than the neighbour of Petrus and Lafleur, with all 3 located in the best area of Pomerol, a truly magical place! A bucket list wine from the Thienpont family.

 

When to drink: Drink now or in the next 15 to 25 years after vintage.

 

Service: 15 to 16 degrees C. Decant 30 min to 1 hour.

 

Food match: Best paired with grilled meats, especially with herbs such as thyme, rosemary, and oregano.
