If you like: Powerful and concentrated Cabernet blend. This wine comes from a very rare organic certified 2.3 hectares Saint Emilion Grand Cru vineyard. Vines are 70 years old average giving low yields. The humble Catherine Papon-Nouvel is not making lots of noise but she is probably crafting one of the best Bordeaux wine out there. Bucket list wine that will remind you the neighboring Chateau Ausone.
Taste like: Harmonious wine, huge aromatic, notes of fresh dark cherry, cassis with a hint of herbal notes very distinctive of Cabernet Franc. Parker: “It has a gorgeous bouquet with pure dark cherry and blueberry aromas. There is some new oak to be subsumed, but there is plenty of fruit to soak...”
