About the wine: Oaky, barrel fermented elegant Burgundy. Blind this wine could be from some of the most presitgious village level of the Cotes de Beaune... Watch out for this single vineyard climat "Le Rouard", Chardonnay grown on the same soils as Corton made of white Marl and exposed to the South-East on steep vineyard. 18 months in oak barrels on lees, 1/3 new barrels. This wine is fast becoming a must have for some of the best Michelin stars's sommelier in Paris.
Taste like: Suave, mineral and very driven, notes of hazelnuts and liquorice. Textured and racy with purity and subtle oaky character. Lenght and power are trademark from this "Le Rouard" vineyard with a long vibrant finish.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 10 years.
Service: 12 to 14 degrees, large Chardonnay glass.
Food match: Sole meunière, roast chicken, salmon with rich buttery sauce, fish pie or scallops.
