About the wine: Fine red wine from Burgundy! Mortet is a family name intimately connected to Gevrey-Chambertin. Charles Mortet started the success story in 1956 with a single hectare of vines. Then in 1992 is splitted the vineyard in beetween his two sons; Denis, and Thierry the youngest started his own Domaine that now produce about 30 000 bottles a year. Thierry's Gevrey-Chambertin is made out of 3.7 hectares. The vines are planted on clay and limestone soils with different textures: with rocks and marls. Vines age varies between 15 and 60 years old for the oldest.
