About the wine: Fine red wine from Burgundy! Mortet is a family name intimately connected to Gevrey-Chambertin. Charles Mortet started the success story in 1956 with a single hectare of vines. Then in 1992 is splitted the vineyard in beetween his two sons; Denis and Thierry the youngest started his own Domaine that now produce about 30 000 bottles a year. The Bougogne Rouge “Les charmes de Daix” is coming only from 1.2 hectares on fine clay and underfloor of limestone rocks including plots in Gevrey.

Taste like: This Mortet's Bourgogne rouge is very aromatic plenty of red berries and generous and delicious body, full of red fruit. This cuvee is fruit focused and vibrant with a beautiful savoury style and a spicy slightly sour finish. One of our favourite red Burgundy out there!

When to drink: Drink now or before 2028.

Service: 14 degrees C. Large Burgundy glass.

Food match: This lightish medium body red will match with various food.
