Aromatics: High intensity aromatics of red berries, cherry, oak spice and smokiness.
Palate: Ripe black fruits, beautiful tannins with a long and rich finish. This is a super delicate wine with plenty of finesse and balance. Long finish.
About the wine: These vines are now 60 years old, a 1.2 hectares "Monopole" recently acquired by the Nudant family. The first vintage was in 1995. Isolated from other plots by high walls (clos), the presence of Bouleaux (birch) was the inspiration behind its name.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 10 years after vintage.
Service: 14 to 16 degrees. Decant for 30 min. serve in large Burgundy glass.
Food match: Beef bourguignon, slow cooked meat stew or duck.
