Aromatics: Smokey, oak spices, toasty, elegant earthiness and notes of fresh black cherries.
Palate: Powerful yet delicate, with velvety tannins. A multi-dimensional wine, fresh black fruit, smooth texture and incredible length. Long ageing potential.
About the wine: This Grand Cru is located in the small village of Flagey-Echezeaux, the vines are more than 50 years old. To match with the power of this vineyard the wine is aged in French oak barrels, some of these barrels are new. Nudant make only about 3,000 bottles each years of this cuvee.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 15-20 years.
Service: Decant for 30min to 1 hour, use large Burgundy glass. Serve at 14 degrees C.
Food match: Beef bourguignon, slow cooked meat stew or duck.
