Aromatics: Very expressive smoky and spicy qualities from the silex soil it’s grown on. This wine shows subtle aromas of almond, lime-flower and fresh grapefruit.
Palate: Powerful and authentic this old school Sancerre shows structured texture. Mineral and rich, with flint and earthy flavours, grilled almond, dried pear, blood orange and apricot.
About the wine: Old vine massal Sauvignon Blanc growing on flint terroir (Silex). This cuvee is aged in old oak foudre. Traditional low intervention winemaking based on the know-how from the past. Bottling date is dictated by regular tasting, ageing can be short or as long as 18 months depending on the vintage. No filtration.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 6-8 years.
