Appellation: AOC Cahors (South-West France region)
Grapes: Malbec (100%)
Farming: Organic (not certified)
Aromatics: Spicy earth aromas on the nose alongside red berries, cherries and notes of fresh tobacco.
Palate: The spice and earth notes continue on to a mid-palate packed with red and black fruits. There's a freshness and balance to accompany the fruit, making for a thirst quenching drop in the Clos de Gamot spirit!
About the wine: Produced from a selected plot from the Domaine, with a limited yield of 40 hl/ha. The terroir is made of clay and limestone, as well as pebbles. Vines are worked sustainably in accordance with the family's long tradition. Vinification is shorter, with gentle pumping over to deliver a brighter and more approachable Malbec, with plenty of personality.
When to drink: Now or in the next 4-6 years.
Service: 15 - 16 degrees C.
Food match: Grilled red meats, tapas or a burger.
