Appellation: Alsace
Grapes: Pinot Gris
Farming: Organic, Biodynamic (certified)
Aromatics: Lovely combination of grapefruit, pear and red berries.
Palate: A juicy smorgasbord of citrus and savoury notes, with a touch of salty minerality. Dangerously easy drinking.
About the wine: Handpicked Pinot Gris grown on clay-limestone soils. The grapes are destemmed, before the intact berries are immersed in juice from direct pressing. A 15 day maceration then follows to achieve the desired skin contact result. The wine is then aged on lees in old oak foudres.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 5-6 years.
Service: 10 to 12 degrees C.
