Palate: Nice sense of place, generous and balance medium bodied Languedoc red with deep ripe black berries and spices. Well balanced tannins and lovely vibrancy. Long persistent finish with peppery notes.
About the wine: This wine is a classic expression of Saint Chinian from iconic vigneron Thierry Navarre. The grapes comes from old vines planted on brown schist soils in the rugged mountains of the Cru Roquebrun within the Saint-Chinian appellation. The name "Laouzil" is the local dialect for the unique type of brown soils you can find there. Ageing in traditional concrete tanks. Light filtration. This is a "terroir-driven bargain" for Languedoc and Rhone alike red wine lovers!
