Aromatics: Violets, black pepper, black cherries and blackberries jump out of the glass. Earthy and spicy notes from the partial use of whole bunch berries during vinification.
Palate: Intense black cherries, more blackberries, fine tannins, ripe and balanced fleshy texture. Long fresh and savoury finish.
About the wine: Made from 20-year-old vines in the “Cote Blonde” area, sitting on schist and clay. “Les Grandes Parcelles” is consider a baby Cote Rotie, and in some vintage it even includes a small amount of declassified Cote Rotie fruits. Hand harvested, partially destemmed, followed by traditional vinification. Aged in barrels.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 4-5 years.
Service: 14 to 15 degrees. Cabernet glass. Decant for 30 mins when young.
Food match: Slow cooked meat dish, grilled meat with roast vegetable, meat stew.
