About the wine: Hand picked, natural yeast fermentation. The Pouilly-Fuissé cuvée Clos Varambon is made from all the vines within the Clos which were planted after 1945: this includes various plots with different age and rootstock, adding up to a total surface of 4,5 hectares which include only one hectare of "young" vines aged less than 20 years. The vinification is made in recent 30-hectoliter oak vats, in 400-liter and 228-liter barrels. This cuvée is bottled after 24 months maturing, without fining and filtration. The Clos Varambon is a wine conceived to be appreciated from its early age: this is why we vinify it mainly in large volume containers and used barrels, in order have all the advantages of oak while keeping a more immediate and direct expression of the fruit.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 5-10 years after vintage.
Service: 12-14 degrees C. Large Burgundy glass.
