Aromatics: Perfumed and vibrant, notes of black berry fruit, black pepper as well as slight smokiness from the oak barrel.
 
Palate: Generous black fruits, nice concentration and texture, persistence, well-fruited appeal. Long and elegant spicy finish.
 
About the wine: East facing decomposed granite soils at 225 metres on the middle of a hillside at Saint Pierre de Boeuf, the grapes are destemmed, 3 week vinification, a few pumping overs, part vat emptying/refilling, a few cap punchings, aged in used 228-litre casks 12 months, usually fined, unfiltered.
 
Service: 14-15 degrees. Cabernet glass. Decant for 30 mins to 1 hour.
 
Food match: Slow cooked meat dish, grilled meat with roast vegetable, meat stew.
