Appellation: Vin de France (Beaujolais region)

 

Grapes: Gamay (50%) Gamaret (50%)

 

Farming: Organic (not certified)

 

Aromatics: Bright on the nose with red berries and fresh blueberries.

 

Palate: Lighter and fun red Beaujolais. Delicious juicy palate, red berries and cherries.

 

About the wine: Unique blend of Gamay and Gamaret. Gamaret is a cousin of Gamay (crossing between Gamay and Reichensteiner) and is grown mostly in Switzerland with just about 400 hectares. Raphael loved it so much when he discovered it at a winemaker friend over there that he decided to plant some on is granitic terroir of LantigniĆ© in the Beaujolais. In the winery, the wine is aged in concrete, not filtered and with no sulphur added. The result of this blend is a delicious lighter and vibrant natural wine.

 

When to drink: Drink now or in the next 2-3 years.

 

Service: 8 to 10 degrees C.

 

Food match: Terrines, grilled meat on the barbecue, grilled fish, charcuterie.
