Palate: Plenty of finesse yet there is also structure and depth, with gentle tannins. Lovely texture and mid palate with dark cherry and ripe raspberry. Energy and vibrancy for this village wine, showing delicate oak notes of cedar and clove. Long and driven finish highlighting a charming sense of place as well as an elegant savory character.
About the wine: The wines of Morey-Saint-Denis are often said to combine the structure of Gevrey-Chambertin with the perfume of Chambolle-Musigny. This 100% Pinot Noir wine is a blend of grapes from vineyard plots. This Morey-Saint-Denis contain grapes from "Clos Solon", "Chenevery", "Crais" and "Cognées", which bring it great quality. Old vines and heavier soils give this wine weight and richness on the palate. Hand harvested the grapes are sorted and then vinified usually destemmed with natural yeast in temperature-controlled tanks. Aged in older French oak barrels and terracotta or clay amphora ranging from 320L to 750L. The average percentage of wines ageing in amphora for the domaine is about 40% which is very unique in Burgundy and add purity of fruit and terroir transparency. Bottled unified and unfiltered or light filtration.
