Aromatics: Complex mix of oxidative Jura notes: spice, fresh white fruits and subtle oak with generous apple notes.
Palate: Power and texture, beautiful red apple flavours. Incredible length, generosity for this Jura. We love its concentration from the old vines and its vibrant finish.
About the wine: Vines planted in 1930 by Victor Gros founder of Montbourgeau, high density plantings with 10 000 vines per hectares on marl terroir - very low yield. Aged in foudre and then in barrique, not topped up.
When to drink: Now or drink in the next 10 years.
Service: Serving temperature 8 to 10 degree C, use large Burgundy glass.
Food match: Old Comté! Chicken curry or roasted lobster.
