2016 Domaine de Brin, AOC Gaillac 'Amphore'

Appellation: AOC Gaillac (South-West France region)

Grapes: Braucol (60%), Duras (40%)

Aromatics: Bright and expressive on the nose, fresh strawberries, sour cherries and floral notes. Subtle earthiness from the grapes.

Palate: Medium bodied, energetic red, lighter and brighter than most reds from the South-West. Smooth texture from the ageing in amphora, this wine made mostly of Braucol is Gamay-esque, yet retains its personality. Plenty of purity and freshness there with loads of red fruits. Lovely earthy finish.
