2020 Domaine Labranche Laffont, AOC Pacherenc du Vic Bilh dry

Appellation: AOC Pacherenc du Vic Bilh sec (South-West France)

Grapes: Gros Manseng (70%), Petit Manseng (30%)

Farming: Organic (certified)

Aromatics: Intense aromas of acacia, candied citrus-fruit, lime, white flowers and spice from the oak.

Palate: This wine is dry, yet refreshing. Very lively on the palate, it fills the mouth with fullness and structure. All the elements blend into a rich, harmonious whole. The finish leaves a delightful, slightly acidic sensation characteristic of Petit Manseng with notes of fresh lime.

About the wine: A dry white wines from an unknown region and producer, but it’s one of the South-West’s best white wines! Serious farming and winemaking, with the wine aged in oak barrel on lees. Low sulphur.

When to drink: Drink now or in the next 3-4 years after vintage.

Service: 12 degrees C.

Food match: Think fish in sauce or roasted chicken. Pairs with seafood, poultry, and firm sheep’s milk cheeses such as the neighboring Ossau-Iraty in the Basque Country.
