Aromatics: Lifted exotic and ripe fruits like lychee, pear and dried apricot as well orange pee and ripe lemon. Beautiful spices, toasted and savoury notes too.
Palate: Fleshy and savoury texture, with gentle tannins and structure from the skin contact. This is one of the best Chardonnay on skin I have tried. It's lively and long with flavours or exotic fruits, apricot, orange and a long mineral finish.
About the wine: Ludovic Bonnardot's 'Clos Botaveau' is a fascinating orange wine from Burgundy, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes. Hand harvested, natural vinification, up to 30 days on skin. Ageing in old oak and or amphora. Low sulphur, bottle without filtration.
