Farming: Organic and Biodynamic
Aromatics: Lovely aromas of blackfruits, blackcurrents, ripe plum with also some elegant earthy and oak spices notes. This is a charming Haut Medoc!
Palate: Gorgeous wine, with a nice structure, ripe blackfruits and more spice on the palate, balanced tannins and plenty of genoristy thanks to the 2019 vintage considered by some one of Bordeaux best. I couldn't agree more, this is a delicious wine and it offers great value for money for those like me who love their Bordeaux, santé !
About the wine: Made from 4.08 hectares, with 7,000 vines per hectare, most of the vines are in average 20 years old. Grapes are hand harvested in small crates, inlcuding sorting in the vineyard. No foulage or no added yeast. Fermentation in concrete tanks. Aging in a reductive environment for 12 months in 300 and 400 litres French oak barrels. Barrel makers: Taransaud, Ermitage and Berthomieu. Light filtration if needed, low sulfur.
When to drink: Ageing potential, decant and drink now or 6-8 years after vintage.
Service: 15 to 16 degrees C in Bordeaux glass.
Food match: Grilled meat or grilled tuna, beef stew or a quality home made burger.
