Soil: Ancient sandy alluvial soils with pebbles ‘galets roulés (Porcellese area, bush vines planted in 1966, low yield)
Grapes: Niellucciu (100%) aka. Sangiovese

Aromatics: Earthy and deep, with ripe black fruits, dry herbs, smoky character and peppery notes.
Palate: Powerful and dense wine, with savory texture, ripe black fruits. Generous yet elegant tannins and good structure with impressive length.
About the wine: Porcellese is the first vineyard Nicolas took over. Hand harvest, destemmed grapes, natural fermentation in concrete tanks. Cold pre fermentation for 48 hours. Light daily pumping over, infusion style. Aging for 24 months in tanks and oak barrels, bottled without fining or filtration. Only a small amount of So2 is used at bottling and appears on the label. Incredible depth, one of the best Niellucciu I tasted!
When to drink: Ready to drink now or after 8-10 years.
Service: 14 degrees, decanter for 30 min to 1 hour.
