Palate: Power and vibrancy, incredible expression of Pinot Noir from Sancerre. A darker medium bodied red with plenty of flesh, black fruits, spices and earthiness. Pure and generous, a must taste!
About the wine: Historically, the Sancerre area was planted mostly with red grapes including Pinot Noir. Pinot vines are now rare in the area and red Sancerre are hard to find. From massal selected vines sitting on clay and limestone terroir, the Pinot Noir grapes are hand picked when ripe. Whole bunch vinification in oak tanks, punching down and pumping over. Aged in French oak barrels. No filtration.
When to drink: Drink now or in the next 8-10 years.
Service: 15 degrees C. Decant for 30 mins. Serve in Pinot glass.
Food match: Duck and other game birds, casseroles or beef stews.
