Aromatics: Beautifully lifted, perfumed and vibrant Merlot with notes of rose flowers. Nuances and complexity with notes of spicy and black cherries.
Palate: Lot's of energy for this lighter and savoury style of old school Bordeaux. Beautiful structure and length with a special liveliness and feel on the palate, black berries and spicy with elegant tannins softens by the years. Very unique wine, it's a must try.
About the wine: The 2011 Bordeaux vintage was cooler vintage often underrated at the time. Natural fermentation, the wine is aged in concrete tanks with artisannal winemaking yet the wines is elegant and precise. Unfined, unfiltred. Low sulphur.
When to drink: Decant for 30 min (don't over do it with old wines) and drink now.
Service: 15 to 16 degrees C in Bordeaux glass.
Food match: Grilled meat dishes (beef or duck), grilled tuna dish or spatchcock in sauce.
